  • History and fun! Do the two mix? You betcha, especially during the annual Night In Old Pearl City observance the weekend before Thanksgiving at historic Turner Hall in Pearl City.
  • Each year hundreds gather to pay homage to the little German hamlet named after Pearl Beer and to celebrate their culture, be it German or Czech—with food, music and a salute to the ancestors that settled this area west of Yoakum.
  • The event draws not only those returning to renew old acquaintances, but also newcomers and visitors wishing to learn more about the history of the area and to experience the food and music that are native to this region of DeWitt County.
  • Each year Night In Old Pearl City highlights several historic sites with free guides tours, a dinner, dance, door prizes and the opportunity to bid on a huge offering of silent auction items. Proceeds from the event go to support the activities of Modern Dance Club #90 and Yoakum-area charities.
  • Speaking of historic, Modern Dance Club #90 was chartered in Yoakum/Pearl City in September of 1957 and is one of the oldest continuingly operating dance clubs in Texas!
  • So, grab your partner and come to Night In Old Pearl City! You might just become a part of history yourself!
